Placemat Tutorial
Recently I lucked out and found this beautiful yard of linen and a recycling center. I just loved the fabric and thought that it would make lovely placemats.
Here is what I came up with:
You wouldn't believe how easy this was to make...
First: Remember preparation is 80% of the finished product... so even if you are like me, an instant gratifier, force yourself to take your time and think twice, cut once.
If you have a stencil you like then half your work is done but if you want to print or design your own, do so and print. You can either use freezer paper, there are many wonderful tutorials to show you how or transfer paper.
Once your print, cut out your design carefully working from the inside out. Then lay your stencil on the fabric and paint...
